Saturday, March 26 End of Winter Celebration
Time: 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Location: Briarwood Park (602 Briarwood Road)
The Briarwood Community Association (BCA) invites all Briarwood residents to our “End of Winter” event, which includes indoor and outdoor activities, featuring:
- Snow sculpture workshop by Theressa Wright
- Paper cutting artist workshop
- Snow Golf Putting Challenge
- Human Tic-Tac-Toe
- Hot dogs, drinks and bonfire
- Prizes and special guests
Come and enjoy the day with your kids, family, friends and your neighbours! The crafts made by our residents will be delivered to senior homes and hospital to show the appreciation from Briarwood community.
Cost: There is no cost of admission. We will be selling BCA memberships for August 1, 2021 to July 31, 2022. The annual $15 household membership supports events, programs for adults and children as well as beautification of our community. You can purchase your membership at the event or in advance by going online. Hot dogs, juice boxes and coffee will be available for purchase.
Call for Volunteers! To make this day a success we need volunteers to help with set up, monitor activities, token/membership sales and clean up. Please email Shirley, Social Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org to help this event.
Snow Sculpture Workshop Preparation
The Briarwood Community Association is inviting residents to participate in the snow sculpture workshop. Please bring tools to carve snow if you are interested:
- Butter knife
- Pot scrubbers
- Car scraper / brush
- Garden tools (trowel, small spade, lawn edger)
- 5 in 1 Paint tool
- Paint brush or other soft bristled brush
- Hands (in mitts)
- Rough sandpaper of different shapes for smoothing and shaping
- Hand saws
- Shovel / spade

Santa Clause Visits Briarwood
Saturday, December 4
Santa is coming to Briarwood on December 4! Join us at the Briarwood Rec Centre to meet Santa and take a picture with him. This event will have COVID-19 measures in place and is free for all Briarwood residents with an active community association membership. Memberships will be available on-site or you can purchase one ahead of time online.
–Sign up to reserve your time slot. Space is limited in order to avoid crowds and ensure physical distancing is possible.
-Masks are required by all participants 3 years and older
-Bring your own device to snap a pic with Santa. Santa’s elves will be available to snap the photo for you if needed
-Proof of vaccination is required for all participants 12 years and older. Individuals 18+ must also show ID. Youth 12-17 are required to show ID, unless accompanied by an adult with proof of vaccine and ID
Board Meetings- BCA Board meetings are held the second Monday of each month. Currently all meetings are via Zoom. All community members are welcome to join the meeting. Email Briarwoodca@gmail.com for a link to the Zoom meeting
